As you know, earlier this summer there were 121 cases of Legionnaire’s Disease in the New York City area, resulting in 12 fatalities. In response, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene issued an order on August 6th requiring all cooling towers in NYC must be tested and disinfected within 14 days from receipt of the order. You can read the full order here: http://www.nyc.gov/html/doh/html/diseases/legi-comm-order.shtml.
Additionally, the State has also issued emergency regulations requiring the registration, testing, inspection and certification of cooling towers throughout New York State.
