LeadingAge New York, in conjunction with NYC DOHMH, is hosting a free Webinar on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm for all New York City Providers, members and non-members. Thanks to support from a federal grant from the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR), this webinar is free of charge and will provide one hour of continuing education credit.
This webinar is the third topic in the four part webinar series:
Shaping the Incident Command System for Assisted Living
Participants will explore how to build an emergency operations plan that supports response and helps assisted living connect with local emergency management jurisdictions. LeadingAge NY will provide CEUs for participation.

Speaker: Lee Ann Griffin, director of quality & regulatory services, Florida Health Care Association
Lee Ann Griffin is the Director of Quality & Regulatory Services for Florida Health Care Association (FHCA). With a fifteen-year career serving the long term care industry in Florida, Lee Ann has developed extensive expertise in the rules, laws and policy interpretations for nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Lee Ann served as a Fellow under the two-year John A. Hartford Foundation grant project and was the project developer for the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan Software Application for Nursing Homes and the nation’s first Nursing Home Incident Command System. Lee Ann presents nationally on nursing home emergency preparedness and was an invitee to the nation’s first Hospital Incident Command System National Summit in 2011. As an NCAL 2014 presenter, Lee Ann showcased her work translating the Incident Command System for assisted living communities.
During the 6 named Florida storms of 2004, Lee Ann worked at the state’s ESF-8 Desk assisting in coordinating communication of needs among nursing homes and assisted living facilities. A former appointee to the Florida Department of Health’s CNA Council, she also served as the liaison to the Florida Board of Nursing. Lee Ann is a Florida certified ALF Administrator and certified by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs to conduct Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Orders training in nursing homes.
Lee Ann holds a degree in Information Studies from Florida State University and has also worked as a certified nursing assistant. Her experience on the front line as a CNA in a hospital’s long-term care unit provided a unique and valuable foundation for her professional work in long-term care policy, education and training.
